Ways Our Students Give
Back to Our Community

Toy Drive for Children

Each Nursing Cohort at West Virginia Junior College completes two community service projects before they graduate from the program. These service projects focus on an underrepresented population in our community. The March nursing cohort graduates recently completed a toy drive for one of their projects. They delivered dozens of gifts to children at Centerville Clinics Children’s Partial Hospitalization program. The kids were so thankful for the Christmas surprise. Our nursing students go above and beyond while becoming experts in their careers. The SGA President, Jessica Lough, said, “The children were very excited to receive wonderful Christmas gifts from our class community service project. The faculty and staff were very welcoming and excited that these children will be able to have gifts for Christmas that they would not otherwise be blessed with.”
