Accreditation and Licensing
West Virginia Junior College is institutionally accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) to award associate degrees and diplomas. ABHES is a national accrediting agency recognized by the US Department of Education.
Permit to operate issued by the West Virginia Council for Community and Technical College Education.
The West Virginia Junior College – Morgantown, Bridgeport, and Charleston Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) programs are approved by the West Virginia Board of Examiners for Registered Professional Nurses.
The nursing education program, at the Morgantown campus only, is a candidate for accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing.
West Virginia Junior College – Bridgeport Practical Nursing program is approved by the West Virginia State Board of Practical Nursing.
West Virginia Junior College offers some programs that are approved by the State Approving Agency for students to use veterans’ benefits.
WVJC – Morgantown is a member of the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA). This means that the institution is authorized to deliver distance education to students who reside in states that are also members of NC-SARA.
