Vanessa Bowles is the Dental Program Director at WVJC Bridgeport. She has been a dental hygienist for 24 years and is a 1998 graduate of West Virginia University School of Dentistry’s Division of Dental Hygiene. Although born and raised in Ebensburg, Pennsylvania, she has devoted her entire career to serving the dental needs of rural West Virginia and has loved every minute of it.
WVJC has been a welcome career change and has opened Vanessa’s eyes to the exciting field of dental education. WVJC allows her to engage with the students on a clinical level and share her “hands-on” approach while in the classroom, making learning both fun and educational. She brings real-life experience to the students and is excited and eager to inspire the next generation of dental professionals.
Most recently, Vanessa has decided to continue her own education and pursue her MBA in Organizational Management at Eastern University. This will assist in the implementation of other dental program opportunities within WVJC.
In her free time, Vanessa enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and fur babies. She loves the outdoors and the quiet times enjoying the beauty of West Virginia. “Country Roads” have truly brought her home.
