CHARLESTON, WV – Summer is coming to an end for everyone, but many recent high school graduates find themselves ready to enter college. Today, West Virginia Junior College Charleston welcomed many of these students as they attended orientation to begin classes on Monday. The group of over 60 students was comprised of all ages, but most were recent high school graduates.
As a part of orientation, students were asked to comment on the WVJC Charleston Facebook page about their excitement of starting school. Some of the comments below really stood out to the staff and faculty:
“I’m enjoying myself in my orientation today. Teachers are awesome and students are so great and friendly. I’m so excited for school to start!” – Jocelyn Simonton
“Happy Orientation!!! I’m so excited to be a part of West Virginia Junior College. Everyone in this program is like one big family, supporting and empowering us on our career educational journey! It’s a truly wonderful experience, and I’m so glad to be a part of it. Thanks WVJC!” – Shanell Manns
“WVJC is like going to a family reunion!!! You never meet a stranger and everyone is there for you even though you haven’t seen them in awhile. They still make you feel like family. I love the atmosphere. The air is breathable with non-toxins. Thank you WVJC for giving me a breath of fresh air.” – Nina Higginbotham
“I woke up with my stomach in knots this morning feeling so nervous about coming here. My 10 year old daughter says “Mom, I’m not even nervous and I’m 10!” Then I got here and Amanda and Darin were so welcoming, I’m very glad I’m here!” – Barbara Gore
We want to welcome new and returning students back to campus Monday for a great term! Best of luck with all your classes!
