CHARLESTON, WV – Network Software and Solutions student Casey Ball decided to attend West Virginia Junior College Charleston because he was looking to make a significant change in his life. He felt WVJC was genuinely interested in his education as a student and the school offered a program he was interested in pursuing.
“I have had an interest in computers since I was young, and I felt like I have dropped the ball at life when I didn’t follow up on my CISCO certification,” Casey said. He knew combining his certification with a degree from WVJC would allow him to broaden his horizons when it came to NSS and IT positions.
Casey also serves as a work study student for WVJC, which is his favorite part about attending school. This allows him to have more hands-on experience in his field of interest. His favorite class was Computer Topics. He also enjoyed studying for his A+ Certification and building his own computer.
After graduation, Casey looks forward to finding a job in his career field. He may also look at continuing his education and receiving more computer certifications.
Casey would like to thank several people who have supported him through his time at WVJC.
“I want to think my family and friends. I really want to think the teachers and administration. If you don’t give up on education they won’t give up on you.”
