Keep Up With Your Resolutions With Our Top 4 TipsTake A Closer Look At Your Goals For The Year

First, let’s closely examine the resolutions you set for yourself at the beginning of the year. If you had trouble keeping up with your resolution as the year went on, there’s a chance that you set yourself too big of a goal and found it unrealistic.

Setting SMART goals can allow you to break down your large go into smaller, more attainable goals. Setting small steps will enable you to stay on track to accomplish your overall goal.

Reevaluate Your Resolutions

As you look closer at the resolutions you set for yourself six months ago, ask yourself if the goal is still relevant to where you are now. Suppose you set a resolution that no longer makes sense for our current situation. In that case, adapting it to something that will benefit your life now is okay. For example, let’s say your new year’s resolution was to start nursing school to set yourself up for a better future. But after researching nursing schools, you decide that nursing isn’t the right career for you, and you choose to pursue a different field instead.

You can adjust your resolution to attending school for a different program that you will enjoy that better aligns with your goal of bettering your future. Just because you set one specific resolution doesn’t mean you can’t change your mind as you learn and grow!

Start Creating Positive Habits

According to an article by Psych Central, it takes only 59 days for a habit to become routine. That means it’s never too late to start establishing positive habits that will improve your life and help you achieve your goals. Spending time thinking about what habits you could improve to achieve your resolution can benefit you.

A helpful tip for establishing a new habit is having a set time to do the particular task you want to become routine. For example, let’s say your new year’s resolution was to read one book monthly for the year. You could establish the habit of reading before bed. After a couple of months, reading will become part of your daily routine.
