Dr. Tammy Kaylor – Faculty Highlight

Meet Dr. Tammy Kaylor, Allied Health Faculty

Meet Dr. Tammy Kaylor, a faculty member at WVJC!

Dr. Tammy Kaylor e1651266208753 | WVJCDr. Kaylor received her Doctorate in Pharmacy from Duquesne University and is a registered pharmacist in both Pennsylvania and Ohio. After graduating from college, Dr. Kaylor worked as a retail and hospital pharmacist. Before working at WVJC, she taught various science and medical courses at the university and community college levels.

Dr. Kaylor is currently a course developer and medical faculty at WVJC. One reason she chose to work at WVJC was that, similarly to our students, she enjoys the flexibility of being able to work from home and at times of the day that are convenient for her.

“My favorite part of working for WVJC is getting to interact with so many different students. I love being able to share my healthcare knowledge and experience, and I hope that I can provide students with information that they will find useful once they start their new careers,” said Dr. Kaylor.

Dr. Kaylor is motivated by the opportunity to teach the future generation. “I am most proud of the fact that I get to use my degree in a way that really helps others achieve their goal of starting a new career in the healthcare field. I have always enjoyed helping others which ultimately led me to become a pharmacist. However, even when I started pharmacy school, I always had a desire to, eventually, become a teacher. I find it to be so rewarding to be able to play a part in educating future healthcare workers,” said Dr. Kaylor.

In the future, Dr. Kaylor plans to continue teaching for WVJC and keep improving the medical courses that she has developed to ensure the information being taught will best assist students as they begin their new careers in the healthcare field!

Dr. Kaylor likes playing the piano and listening to audiobooks in her free time. Her biggest weakness is for oreo or cherry vanilla ice cream, but her favorite thing is spoiling her 12-year-old Shih Tzu, Mr. Pickles.
