Meet Medical Coding Graduate Rachel Timbrook!
Before attending WVJC, Rachel Timbrook worked as a long-term care diagnosis coder and Medical Records Coordinator. Rachel attended her local community college and received her Associate’s degree in Applied Science. Rachel began looking around at colleges specific to medical billing and coding.
She discovered that WVJC offered the Medical C
oding program as well as many other resources provided to their students and graduates for a lifetime.
Rachel found that she truly enjoys medical billing and coding as a career because of her current workplace and job responsibilities. Since graduating, Rachel is still in her current job diagnosis coding but aspires to work remotely in medical billing and coding. Rachel does have an upcoming interview for a remote position, and she attributes that to the Director of Career Management, Lakelyn Denny.
Rachel does have some fond memories while attending WVJC. Rachel was impressed with all the instructors’ dedication to the program and their willingness to be available and flexible at all times of the day and night. One instructor who was paramount in her educational journey at WVJC was Dr. Kacey Eagle, Allied Health Program Director. Dr. Eagle not only taught Rachel’s favorite class of advanced coding but also provided memorable study sessions and always a good laugh to help the students with any educational stressors.
Rachel would 1,000% recommend WVJC to anyone, and in fact, she has done just that amongst her peers and family.
