Pam Wilson, MSN, RN – Nursing Program Director

Pam Wilson

Pam Wilson was born on the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tuscon, AZ.  However, she moved to WV when she was one and has been raised a true West Virginia Mountaineer.  She is married with four sons and a daughter.  She began her nursing career as an LPN in 1998. During this time, she worked in a Medical/Surgical unit with the Veterans, Pediatrics, Family Medicine, and Hospice.  In 2006, she returned to school at Mountain State University and received her BSN Summa Cum Laude.  She continued to work in Hospice and advanced into management.  Pam then had an amazing opportunity to teach and help finish designing the LPN program at WVJC Bridgeport in 2014.   The LPN Program started in January of 2015.  Pam has always had a strong desire to teach and help others.  She has mentored her students to ensure they not only understand the concepts, but they understand how to care for the patient and family at the bedside.  Pam then perused her Master of Science in Nursing in Education at Western Governors University and is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society.  She was also a recipient of the National Nursing Professional Development Scholarship.  Pam is now eager to start offering the RN Program in June 2020 at the Bridgeport Campus.

The love of nursing and the serving in this profession runs in her family as her great-Aunt, grandmother, and sister are nurses as well.  During her life and nursing career, Pam has always found great joy in teaching others.  Pam loves education because she can make a difference in the lives of both the students and the patients.
