Nursing Students Demonstrate How to Deliver a Baby

How to deliver a baby using a sim!

Maria Schubert, the Assistant Director/ Nursing Clinical Coordinator, will demonstrate “How to deliver a baby” using the simulation lab on campus.

Mrs. Schubert introduced herself to the patient and received a report from the previous nurse that her water had broken two hours ago. The patient was given an epidural, and the last nurse checked her, and she was completely effaced, dilated, and ready to have a baby. The next step is to call in the doctor and then position the mother into position to give birth. Once the patient has given birth, the baby is given to the mom to promote bonding. The last step is waiting for the placenta to be delivered.
