Meet Medical Coding Graduate – Breanna Parker
Before enrolling at WVJC Online, Breanna was a stay-at-home mom to her two daughters. Her daughters inspired her to return to school. Breanna attended a different college when she was younger but did not enjoy the experience. “I chose WVJC based on their impressive statistics, as well as their kind and compassionate staff. They were there to ensure my success,” said Breanna. She took this opportunity to grow and pursue a career in an area she was passionate about. Breanna chose to enroll in the Medical Coding program because she enjoyed the concept of matching different codes to procedures and diagnoses. More importantly, Breanna recognized that she was a busy mother of two. She wanted to find a career that could provide her the flexibility she needed with the option of working from home.
Breanna’s favorite part of attending WVJC Online was the staff. “Every person had so much passion and kindness. These individuals that you work with provide you with so much motivation to do your best, and that is something I will never forget,” said Breanna. Although she appreciates everyone, she would have to choose Dr. Kacey Eagle as her favorite teacher at WVJC Online. Dr. Eagle is the reason why she never gave up.
Breanna has graduated from WVJC Online and is working at Northwood Health Systems as a Billing Clerk. Her duties include E/M coding, billing, collection of health insurance claims, and data entry. In the next five years, Breanna sees herself continuing with her job. She intends to work hard and be successful in her career! Breanna stated that she would absolutely recommend WVJC Online to a friend! “WVJC has changed my life. Before, I was not sure what I was going to do when my children started school. Now, I am starting my career while my oldest starts kindergarten. Never in a million years did I think I would be where I am now. That is all attributed to WVJC,” said Breanna.
