Anissa Morris is a recent graduate of WVJC Online. Anissa was a Pharmacy Technician for 15 years before she made the decision to follow her dreams and change careers. She saw a Clinical Medical Assistant commercial from WVJC Online. She was drawn to medical assisting because she needed a change in her life. She was already in the medical field and working in the Mon General Health System. She enjoyed her job and liked her coworkers, but still felt a void. Anissa picked up the phone and got enrolled to work toward her ultimate goal of obtaining a Clinical Medical Assistant degree.
Anissa chose to go to school online because she still needed to work and maintain her life at home. She has two boys which made going to a campus difficult for her. WVJC Online was a perfect way for her to manage her home life but to also balance going to school as well.
Anissa, like many people juggling home and school responsibilities, knew that going back to school wasn’t always going to be easy. Her advice to prospective students, whether online or residential, is, “The road might feel long but hard work pays off.” Anissa could not have completed her program successfully without the support of her sons, friends, sisters, mom, dad, stepdad, and coworkers. They were her constant motivation and she is very thankful to all of them for being by her side during her school journey.
