Pass for Class is an opportunity for potential students to spend a day on-campus and get to experience all that WVJC has to offer them. It is open to anyone exploring their educational opportunities, from high school sophomores to adults.
The Charleston campus hosted their first Pass for Class on April 28, 2015 and it was a major success. They had 20 visitors and there was plenty of fun to go around!
The day was circus themed, complete with a hotdog lunch, popcorn bar, cotton candy and a prize drawing!
Future students had the opportunity to meet current students and discuss their programs and college life in general. Some current students even brought their friends and family to encourage them to pursue their career goals.
It was exciting to have new faces around campus and everyone enjoyed experiencing the hands on learning approach of WVJC. One visitor even said that experiencing that type of hands on learning was her favorite part of the day.
This event was developed and organized within the Admissions Department at the Charleston campus. We would like thank Community Relations Coordinator and High School Presenter, Claire Lauderman, for her dedication to making the day such a success.
“This event is just the beginning. We are planning on hosting Pass for Class events throughout the year to encourage anyone thinking about college to pursue their educational goals and to connect them with the campus,” said Lauderman.
Future Pass for Class events are in the planning stages and will be announced in the coming months. If you are considering continuing your education or are curious about WVJC, you can attend Pass for Class or call 304.345.2820 for more information.
