When you want to attend West Virginia Junior College Online there are a few people you get to speak with before officially becoming a student. One of those people is Ben Larke, our Financial Aid Representative. Financial Aid is a big part of the admissions process. Ben talks with every online student that enrolls in WVJC to help walk them through the rigorous process. Ben knows a lot about our students, but nobody knows much about Ben, so this is his official introduction.
Ben has always been a people person. In each position he has carried he has worked with the general public. He loves being able to speak to the students and get to know them on a more personal level. He doesn’t just listen to the cut and dry financial aid, he listens to the student’s needs and does the best he can to help each student individually.
When asked about his favorite part of working at WVJC, Ben said, “I love that I can come to work every day to a group of people that I know will be there for me if I need them. My coworkers make coming to work a fun and fulfilling experience.”
Outside of work, Ben likes to work on his jeep, ride his motorcycle and go camping. He loves being outdoors as much as possible, especially if it involves his dog Buddy. Ben enjoys going out to eat Mexican food. You could call him an aficionado of sorts! He also dabbles in cooking and will try just about anything once.
