During ones time as a student at West Virginia Junior College Online your experience will be different than that of an on-campus student, but there are a few things that stay the same. One of those is completing an externship.
When choosing externship sites, our Career Management Director Julie Warden looks for the best of the best. We want our students to gain experience in real life situations similar to what they will encounter in the workforce. Externships also help our students show future employers that they have experience working in their field.
One externship site that has provided our students with a great experience is WV Cheer Academy in Big Chimney, WV. Our latest student to complete her externship there was Kristi Kuhl, and according to her and the owner of WV Cheer Academy, Kayla Wygal, it was a phenomenal experience all around!
Kayla stated, “It was great to have a highly motivated individual join our team. Kristi was very helpful. She learned everything she possibly could, including payroll, setting appointments, and taking payments. We would hire her if we were not selling our business!”
Kristi had equally good things to say about her experience at WV Cheer Academy. She said “Thanks to Kayla and WV Cheer Academy my knowledge of the business world has expanded immensely!”
