MORGANTOWN, WV – Enrollment is now officially open for the new Pharmacy Technician Degree Program at West Virginia Junior College Morgantown Campus. While other schools offer a certificate or diploma in Pharmacy Tech, this is the first Associate Degree program in the area. In 18 months, WVJC trains students for a career in the pharmacy field and prepares them to take the national exam to become a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
Pharmacy Technician graduates gain the knowledge and skill set to work in the growing, complex industry of pharmacy and can obtain careers in local, large chain or hospital pharmacies. Students learn a wide variety of both clinical and administrative skills and complete a pharmacy externship for hands-on experience before graduation.
West Virginia Junior College Morgantown Campus Executive Director, Patricia Callen, stated, “West Virginia Junior College has a long-standing reputation for providing quality employees to healthcare organizations in the Morgantown area. After extensive program development, we are confident that our skilled Pharmacy Technicians will have successful careers in the pharmacy industry after completing our program.”
