WVJC Charleston Graduate Highlight: Roxie Dillard, Medical Assistant

DSCN2662CHARLESTON, WV – West Virginia Junior College Charleston Medical Assisting graduate, Roxie Dillard, decided to attend WVJC Charleston due to convenience. “The hours and school schedule were convenient for my situation at the time” she stated. While in school, Roxie appreciated the small size of the campus. “It made one-on-one teaching a lot easier.”

Roxie chose the medical assistant program as a starting place for a medical career. “I have always wanted to be in the medical field and this was a good foot in the door for me” she said. Since completing her program, Roxie has been hired as a Medical Assistant at South Central Regional Jail in Charleston.

There are few people Roxie would like to thank for supporting her through school. “First, I would like to thank all the staff at WVJC. Everyone was great and they truly do care about every one of us. I would also like to thank my husband and kids. If it wasn’t for my husband supporting me every step of the way I would have never made it. My daughters kept me motivated to have a great career to provide a better future for them.”

Finally, Roxie had one piece of advice for future students. “Stay focused, determined, and keep your eye on the prize. Perfect attendance is the way to go.”

Congratulations Roxie and best of luck in the future!
