Lisa McDonald is an adjunct instructor at WVJC Bridgeport. She teaches courses in Pharmacology, Anatomy and Physiology, and Medical Terminology. She said, “I was recruited to teach at WVJC by Mrs. Frye (WVJC- Bridgeport Academic Dean).” Lisa said that the students and small class size were appealing to her when she considered this position. In addition to her duties here at WVJC, Lisa is a Registered Nurse at WVU Children’s Hospital in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. In talking about this position she said, “It is my passion to watch them (patients in NICU) grow, get healthy, and go home. It is very rewarding.”
This attitude and outlook on her profession definitely shines through in the classroom. Mrs. Jenica Frye had this to say about Mrs. McDonald. “She takes that same passion that she has at the hospital and applies it to the classroom here. She takes time to nurture our students and enjoys watching them grow.”
When not at the WVJC Bridgeport or at the hospital, Lisa does find time for herself. She said that she enjoys working with young people through middle school sports programs such as volleyball and track. She also loves to read and watch movies to relax.
